Polk sheriff to hold news conference on child’s death, parents’ arrest

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd will hold a news conference Thursday to discuss parents from Davenport who are accused in the death of their toddler.

The event, at the Sheriff’s Operations Center on Jim Keene Boulevard, is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.

The toddler’s death was the result of negligent child abuse, according to a sheriff’s office spokesperson. The child was nearly 3-year-old, records show.
