OCALA, Fla. – Two teens were involved in a deadly car crash in Ocala Tuesday morning, leaving one dead, Ocala police said.

Police stated two 15-year-olds — one driver and one passenger — were traveling northbound on Northeast 25th Avenue prior to the crash.

According to police, the teens were heading through the intersection at Northeast 25th Avenue and Northeast 14th Street when the vehicle they were in crossed over the center into the southbound lane, striking another vehicle head-on.

Both teens were transported to UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital in Gainesville, records show. However, one of the teens died approximately two hours after she arrived at the hospital.

The Orlando Police Department said the second teen — who was driving the vehicle — is in stable condition.

The driver of the other vehicle had no significant injuries and was released at the scene, police said.

The crash is still under investigation at this time.
