A Brit dad allegedly killed a Russian paedophile with a single punch after saying he wanted to have sex with his underage daughter.
The 34-year-old Brit dad is alleged to have fatally hit the Russian tourist, 36, after he made sexual advances towards his 15-year-old daughter at a pool party in Pattaya, Thailand, on May 27. The Russian reportedly told the girl he wanted to have sex with her, which led the Brit dad to punch him in the face.
In the scuffle, the Russian landed headfirst on the ground and he was rushed to a hospital in the city. He later died from his injuries.
Police in Pattaya launched a manhunt shortly afterward and collected video footage and witness statements in a bid to track the Brit down. Pattaya officers said they had identified the alleged attacker as a British national and issued an arrest warrant on the charges of “causing grievous bodily harm resulting in death.”
According to the Pattaya Mail, the dad – understood to be from Wales – was found in a guesthouse in Na Jomtien, about six miles away from where the fatal attack took place. He was arrested and brought into the Pattaya City Police Station for questioning.
“I did not think my punch would lead to the man’s death,” the Brit allegedly told Thai police. “I regret my actions.”
The Brit’s Thai wife, 28, said she had attended the party but that she had left early in order to go to work. She then claimed to have received a text from her husband at 3am saying he wanted to go home.
“I returned to the villa and found him walking along the street, so I took him back inside,” she said, according to MailOnline. “When I asked him what happened, he told me that while they were drinking, the Russian man started to sexually harass our daughter, even though his own wife was also there at the party.
“The harassment escalated until the man finally propositioned our daughter. This angered my husband so he punched him once and knocked him out.”
The British dad is understood to remain in police custody. Pattaya is a major tourist destination in Thailand and welcomes millions of visitors from across the world each year.
